I’ve always had a soft spot (read: full-blown obsession) for discovering off-beat, unique objects with serious character, quirky fashion, fine yet statement pieces, and handmade accessories that come with a story. After a foundation at Parsons and a BFA in Advertising from the School of Visual Arts, New York, I spent a few years in fashion PR with Industry Publicity and LaForce + Stevens, learning how style, storytelling, and perception really work.
I moved back to India in 2009 and opened Creo Lifestyle, which turned into a 12-year love affair with curation and design. Somewhere along the way, it became clear that there was a gap in the market for fun fashion accessories that were handcrafted, authentic, and actually meant something, so Dérive was born. A space for pieces with personality, provenance, and a point of view.
Since then, I’ve continued to follow curiosity wherever it leads, whether that’s designing a playful capsule collection, styling interiors, or building worlds where objects aren’t just worn or placed, but experienced.
Priya Vora
A Mayo College alumna, I pursued a BA in Economics, followed by a degree in Advertising & Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology, New York.
Brought up in a family of passionate art and textile collectors, in the vibrant state of Gujarat amidst architecture and craft, my roots have always been deeply entwined with thoughtful design and making.
Travel and a love for fashion led to discovering design-oriented pieces, found in museum stores and tucked-away boutiques along the by-lanes of quaint European towns. Each reflecting a quiet balance of form and expression.
Turning this obsession into a business felt instinctive. DÉRIVE was born as a space where curiosity and design converge, curating all that is expressive, considered, and distinctive.

Born from curiosity rather than a plan, Dérive takes its name from the French word for a spontaneous, unplanned journey, and that’s exactly how we like to work. We connect with international designers from across the world who experiment with different mediums, creating handcrafted fashion jewelry and objects that are authentic, design-driven, and full of stories worth telling.

We poke holes in old beliefs: diamonds aren’t the only kind of precious, and silver doesn’t need a big price tag to feel serious. We believe fashion jewelry can be beautiful, collectible, and quietly special, made to be worn, lived in, and remembered.
